Goop Tales, Page 110

Xcitabelle has been excited all day. She gets excited very easily, and screams and makes a great noise and rushes about like mad whenever anything happens. To-day she is giving a party. When she was in Kindergarten she got up and ran up to her teacher many times and shouted out, “I’m going to have a party to-day!” till she had to sit all alone till she could grow quiet. In the afternoon she could hardly wait till she was dressed, but kept jumping up and down and running up and down stairs like a runaway horse. When Cousin Billy came, she ran to meet him with a loud scream, and then ran upstairs shouting at the top of her voice, “COUSIN BILLY’S COME!” She slammed the doors and tipped over chairs until Mother told her she would have to be sent to bed if she didn’t act more quietly. Now they are having the party, and Cousin Billy is playing “Blind Man’s Buff” with them. Xcitabelle is shrieking and laughing at the top of her voice, and hopping up and down and stamping her feet, she is having such a good time. No one can be so noisy as Xcitabelle, when she is playing a game, not even Yellkum. When they had finished the game, Xcitabelle ran all over the house crying, “WE’RE GOING TO HAVE ICE-CREAM! WE’RE GOING TO HAVE ICE-CREAM!” Then Cousin Billy said, “Yes, Mary is setting the table and there will be ice-cream; but it is not for Goops! Are you a Goop?”
